Summer is a wonderful time for preschoolers at Evergreen Academy! Preschoolers have themed weeks and take many of the field trips with SuperKids. We go to the park, we go swimming every week, and we are all part of the Reading Kids Evergreen Library Summer Program. We also have special cooking, science and art projects that are relating to the theme for the week. 

Please dress your child for the weather in comfortable play clothes. Please, for your child's safety, no flip flops or clogs. We tend to run and trip in these types of shoes. Well fitting tennis shoes or sandals are best. Also, it is very important to have a jacket at school at all times. Our weather can change in a moment. A summer hat is a good idea as well. Please leave a swim suit and towel at school for the entire summer. We spend a lot of time playing in water on and off site, and we will wash them here.

PLEASE MARK ALL SWIM SUITS, TOWELS, SHOES, JACKETS, AND HATS WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME IN PERMANENT MARKER.

SUNSCREEN

Colorado High Country Sun can be brutal. PLEASE, make sure that your child does not leave the house unless you have applied sunscreen. Then, bring their SPRAY SUNSCREEN to school for us to reapply mid-day.  The spray on kind meets with few objections and sets quicker. 

WATER BOTTLES

Hydration on-the-go is very, very important. As part of our Summer Camp experience, every child is provide with their own, labelled water bottle. We refill at every opportunity. 

Here is a sampling of our summer field trips: Picnics at various local parks, swimming at the Buchannan Rec Center's shallow pool and Splash Water Park.
