Our Philosophy
Evergreen Academy is an
independent, nonprofit educational institution, recognized as tax-exempt under
Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Academy stresses solid
preparation in the fundamental academic skills of reading, writing, mathematics,
science, history and geography. Weekly classes in music, art, physical education
and foreign language compliment our curriculum. The curriculum incorporates the
best of the Western tradition and modern innovation in a creative,
values-centered approach. Each student receives personalized instruction from
dedicated teachers to help him/her become a successful, productive and
independent member of our free society.

relevant to its community.
Statement of Faith
We welcome people of all beliefs to Evergreen Academy. As a
school, we hold to the following beliefs:
-
The Bible is inspired by God, contains no errors and is
authoritative in our lives
-
There is only one God, and He exists in Three Persons: Father,
Son and Holy Spirit
-
Each person, because of their sin, needs salvation and that
salvation is only available in Christ
-
Following Christ means living His Life and following His
commands through the grace of His Spirit
History
Chris & Victoria Lierheimer
started Our House Children's Learning Center in 1990. The Lierheimers both
taught as certified teachers in the Albany, New York area prior to their return
to Colorado. In 1995, the Lierheimers visited Hillsdale College and Hillsdale
Academy in Hillsdale, Michigan (www.hillsdale.edu). After extensive talks with
the faculty of both the college and the academy, the Lierheimers returned to
Evergreen and established Evergreen Academy, basing the school on the Hillsdale
model. Currently the two schools serve 160 children in the Evergreen/Conifer
area.
